The KPS Group provides mobile scanning services with units equipped to collect all types of geotechnical data from remote sites around the world. Small teams of geoscientists equipped with high-resolution black and white and colour scanners can capture, onsite, a variety of geotechnical documents as standard TIFF images. This facility eliminates the need for copying originals, or their removal from the remote storage facility. Cataloguing and indexing at the scanning stage provides a comprehensive list of document attributes. On return, the images can be plotted to reproduce the original data on to hard copy, or can be input to other proprietary software packages for workstation loading or loaded into data management inventory systems. Experience has shown that the Remote Data Collection service saves valuable client time, eliminates dubious copy quality and the necessity for the shipping of hard copy data.
